This was Lawrenceville's best showing at the MASA tournament. That's true not only because they came within 2.5 points of knocking off perennial (since 2001) champion Episcopal Academy, but because I've never seen a group of players rise to the occasion the way that these nine girls did today. It was pure joy to watch them compete. They fought through illness, tough calls, nerves, fatigue, jitters and the like to put together a beautiful all-around performance. It was pure joy to coach this team today. Congratulations to them all! Particular congratulations to Mina Shakarshy for being named to the All-MASA team. Next up, a tough match against Penn Charter at home on Tuesday at 4:00pm followed by the National Championships next Friday.
